We’re hit by volatile imported natural gas prices, regional grid bottlenecks, and policies that prioritize mandates over reliability. Families shouldn’t have to choose between heat and groceries.

I support Energy Freedom, an all-of-the-above strategy that unleashes every reliable American energy source without punishing reliability or jacking up prices.

Protect and expand proven assets like Seabrook Station while advancing next-generation Small Modular Reactors (SMRs). These factory-built reactors can be deployed faster and at lower upfront cost than traditional plants. They deliver clean, always-on baseload power with strong safety features and can be scaled to fit New Hampshire’s needs, from communities to industrial sites. SMRs will help stabilize and lower long-term electricity rates while creating high-paying jobs here at home.

Build on New Hampshire’s recent progress opening the door to SMR development and the regional commitment by New England governors to explore advanced nuclear for reliability and affordability. I’ll work to accelerate federal support so these state-led efforts succeed.

Immediately expand domestic natural gas production and pipeline capacity to bring relief to New Hampshire families right now while longer-term nuclear options come online.

Fight federal green energy mandates and subsidies that distort markets and raise costs for New England ratepayers. No more policies that make power more expensive.

Push for federal permitting reform to streamline reviews for energy projects, including SMRs, natural gas infrastructure, and transmission, so we can build faster and bring more reliable supply online without endless delays.

Support targeted R&D and public-private partnerships to bring American-designed SMRs and other advanced nuclear online sooner, strengthening energy independence and reducing reliance on imported fuels.

Result: Lower and more stable electric bills, reliable power year-round (especially during winter peaks), new jobs in advanced manufacturing and energy, and true energy security.

Boost Housing Supply and Make Homeownership Possible Again

Housing costs are crushing the next generation. Sudden population pressures and institutional buyers snapping up properties have made it worse.

Champion local zoning reform to cut red tape and let communities build more housing where it makes sense, while preserving local control. I trust Granite Staters to decide what’s best for their towns, not Washington bureaucrats.

Secure the border and enforce immigration law to ease artificial demand on our housing stock and community resources.

Investigate and address large-scale institutional and private equity buyers who treat homes as financial assets rather than places for families.

Support federal efforts to streamline permitting and remove unnecessary barriers that slow housing construction, while keeping decisions local.

By taming inflation and bringing down interest rates through responsible fiscal policy, make mortgages affordable again so more young families and first-time buyers can achieve the American Dream of homeownership.

Tame Inflation by Cutting Wasteful Federal Spending

Inflation is the silent tax that has made everything more expensive. Life is getting way too expensive, way too quickly. While inflation has subsided greatly from the sustained levels during the last presidential administration, there is more work to be done amid positive geopolitical pressures.

Let me be clear: my #1 priority when getting to Washington, DC to serve as your congresswoman is to work tirelessly every single day to drive down costs for ordinary New Hampshire folks.

To that end, I will put more pressure to get special interests, corporations, and the Federal government out of managing the economy. Instead of pushing for public-private partnerships and regulations that seem only to end up helping politically-connected big players, I will endeavor to remove subsidies and red tape for all businesses, large and small, unleashing true market competition. We must allow the free market to thrive. Only then, do costs come down and real job growth and real prosperity naturally follow.

Also, the cost of energy has a huge impact on the prices we pay for so many things. We must declare energy freedom and allow access, with appropriate mechanisms to control pollution, to all of our available resources: nuclear, oil, solar, coal, and wind. We should not be in an either/or political fight amongst ourselves on which energy sources to promote. Artificial energy restrictions not only do not make sense for national security (dependence on other countries), but it further divides and impoverishes the country.

Lastly, plain and simple, the government must reduce its spending; we must grow the economy and start paying down the national debt. Our children and grandchildren will thank us.

LILY’S AFFORDABILITY PLAN FOR GRANITE STATERS Energy Freedom to Bring Down Sky-High Electric Bills and Power Our Future New Hampshire families face some of the highest electricity rates in … Read more

["post-1431","page","type-page","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail

Lily's Affordability Plan - Lily Tang Williams for Congress

<meta property="og:description" content=" LILY’S AFFORDABILITY PLAN FOR GRANITE STATERS Energy Freedom to Bring Down Sky-High Electric Bills and Power Our Future New Hampshire families face some of the highest electricity rates in ...
